Buoy to Buoy was founded by a group of five dedicated men — passionate motorcycle riders, proud Masonic Shriners, and several U.S. veterans — who came together with one shared mission: to support veterans in need within their community.
Recognizing that many veterans return home from service without the support and resources they deserve, the group created the Buoy to Buoy Charity Ride to raise awareness, inspire action, and generate funding to help make a difference.
Through fundraising events, charity motorcycle rides, and countless volunteer hours, the team remains committed to supporting veterans facing hardship and bringing greater awareness to the challenges they encounter after returning home. The Buoy to Buoy ride represents more than just a journey — it is a mission of compassion, service, and giving back to those who have sacrificed for our country.

Eric “Ironman” Bock has spent more than 40 years embracing the freedom of the open road, logging an estimated 400,000 miles and owning more than 50 motorcycles throughout his lifetime. His passion for riding began in high school on a Kawasaki LTD 440 and continues today aboard his BMW R1250GSA and Harley-Davidson Street Glide.
Off the road, Eric is the owner of Bock Financial Services, a financial advisory firm he has proudly led in Bradenton, Florida, for more than 30 years. A devoted family man, he has been happily married for 34 years and is the proud father of two daughters and grandfather of two granddaughters. Whether riding cross-country, helping clients plan for the future, or spending time with family, Eric brings dedication, experience, and passion to everything he does.

John “Urkel” Koch has been living the motorcycle life since 2000, logging more than 200,000 miles on two wheels along the way. Many of those miles were spent riding side-by-side with his beautiful bride of 45 years, making memories on long road trips across the country. A proud husband, father of two, and grandfather to five, John’s passion for the open road is matched only by his love for family.
Currently riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, John is always looking toward the next adventure and has his sights set on adding a Harley Pan America to the garage soon. With retirement hopefully around the corner, he’s looking forward to even more miles, more destinations, and more stories from life on the road.

Chuck Shippey, better known as “High 5” or “Swingarms,” is a proud father of three and has been married to his wife for 25 years. A combat veteran who served during the Gulf War and Operation Desert Falcon, Chuck brings dedication, resilience, and a great sense of humor to everything he does.
With more than 30 years of riding experience, motorcycles have long been a major part of his life and passion for adventure. He currently rides a Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special along with a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, giving him the perfect mix of touring comfort and off-road capability.
Known for being able to fix just about anything, Chuck is also a walking encyclopedia of obscure and often hilariously useless knowledge. Around the crew, his motto says it all: “Just Chuck It.”

Juan "House" de la Rosa is a Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran who has dedicated his life to serving others. As a compassionate nurse, devoted husband of 25 years, proud father of three sons, and grandfather to a beautiful granddaughter, service and family are at the heart of everything he does.
For more than 25 years, House has found freedom and adventure on two wheels. Whether riding his Indian Pursuit across the country or enjoying a scenic backroad close to home, he believes the journey is always more important than the destination. His passion for motorcycles, combined with his commitment to helping others, makes him a natural fit for the Buoy to Buoy mission.
When he's not riding, House enjoys cooking for family and friends, sharing plenty of laughter, and delivering the occasional dad joke that's guaranteed to earn an eye roll. He lives by a simple philosophy: serve with compassion, ride with purpose, laugh often, and never miss an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Buoy To Buoy Charitable Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise funds that support veterans facing homelessness and to advance suicide prevention efforts, helping those who have served our country find stability, hope, and critical resources.
